Help Us Put Down Roots
Living Roots Farmstead is ready to be born. It is searching for a place to call home, and we believe the right land is out there, waiting for a vision that will honor and restore it.
Where We're Looking:
We are currently focused on finding this dream in Tennessee, where the climate and government values align closely with our vision. The rolling hills, the growing seasons, the communities that still remember what neighborly means—it feels like home before we’ve even arrived.
We dream of mist rising off the Smokies at dawn. Of soil that begs to be planted. Of communities where “how’s your mama?” isn’t small talk—it's a real question. Tennessee calls to us because it still remembers what so many places have forgotten: that land and people are meant to take care of each other.
That said, we are open to other places that might be as good or better. If the right piece of land calls to us from elsewhere, we will listen. The land chooses us as much as we choose it.
Are you, or do you know?
🌿A farmer with 10+ (or maybe less) acres who is ready to retire and wants their land to continue a legacy of stewardship, not development?
🌿A property owner who shares our excitement about this vision and seeks a partner to bring it to life?
🌿A community with available land that would welcome a Farmstead of natural healing and local resilience?
What We're Dreaming Of:
🌿Farmable Land: For organic row crops, orchards, market gardens, and enough abundance to share.
🌿Existing Structures or Potential: A central house, space for additional tiny homes or worker housing, and the ability to add simple, beautiful structures like a healing center, workshop, or farmstead pantry.
🌿Water Features: A stream, spring, or waterfall—water is life, and central to both farming and healing. A place to stand and feel at peace.
🌿Woodland: Partly wooded area for mushroom cultivation, foraging, and quiet trails that remind us of our place in the natural world.
🌿Good Solar Exposure: To support our goal of energy independence—using modern technology to live more lightly, not more heavily, on the land.
We Are Open:
To creative partnerships. To transitional arrangements. To purchase or collaborate. And most of all, to the possibility that the land itself might have ideas we haven't yet imagined.
If the land suggests a different path—if it has its own dreams for what Living Roots Farmstead should become—we are listening. This vision is a living thing, and it will grow and change with every hand that helps shape it.
This is an invitation to build something different. Something simpler. Something filled with joy, connection, and hope.
Let's find the land and put down roots together.
